Mystery Quilt Progress: Month 2 of “The Gypsy Quilt”

HI There

I am pleased to share photos of the second version of

the Mystery Quilt by The

Gourmet Quilter — "That Square Quilt".

The colors and fabrics are coming together

and have given me the "impression" of a

Gypsy Quilt…

so that is what I have decided at this point to call it.

All cut out and ready to go…

The squares are getting ready for sewing…

I love it when things are coming together….

Colorful strips in progress…

All sewn up…can’t wait for Month 3!

Thanks for stopping by.

Gourmet Quilter’s “That Square Quilt”: Mystery Quilt; Month 2.

It has been a busy few days!

Month 2 of the Free Downloadable Mystery Quilt "That Square Quilt", designed by The Gourmet Quilter is all done.

I started off with the lovely "Amelia" fabric mentioned in my last post.

Here are the pieces for Month 2 all cut out.

Isn’t the fabric a delight?

Here are some square blocks developing…Love the stripes.

……….

and the 3 1/2 Inch strips are done.

I can’t help but think of Licorice Allsorts with these colors.

……. Don’t forget to label the groups of pieces.

Fun and Flowery, square blocks.

Things went fairly smoothly with no major mistakes (That I can see!).

Thanks Gourmet Quilter and Lori.

Enjoy.

“That Square Quilt”: Mystery Quilt; Part One.

It has been a busy day…

reconnecting with the Mystery Quilt

—  "That Square Quilt"

designed by The Gourmet Quilter.

I have made a start with the lovely new fabric,

from the range "Amelia"

by Me and My Sister,

sent by Lori at Stitches N’ Giggles.

I am loving my first foray with these fabrics.

Here is the first month’s cutting out all done.

As you can see, work is in progress here.  At the top the half-square triangles are being prepared. At the bottom there are some flying geese getting ready to fly.

Here is another shot of the flying geese getting ready.

Happy pile of pieces in progress here.

Hooray…!!  Only the trimming to go…tomorrow.  Here are all the pieces done for the first month of the Mystery Quilt.

What do the colors make you think of?

I have downloaded the second month’s instructions so am ready to go on Part 2.

It’s not too late to join in….please check out www.gourmetquilter.com.

Enjoy.

Happy To Be Home

Arrived home in the wee hours

a couple of days ago

and have nearly re-found my feet/sewing machine.

Had a lovely time away…

including a nice visit to

Patchwork on Central Park in Melbourne.

Some more gorgeous fabric has found its way home with me.

Such a treat to spend some time in this shop…a real treasure trove!

I’ll show you my stash later.

Yesterday was a gorgeous day here, I was able to unpack, wash and dry all my clothes and get ready for work the next day/today.  I enjoyed a walk around our garden seeing all the spring growth, the bright pink peach blossoms, the lawn overgrown and visitors outside the gate.

Back soon

The Parcel Has Arrived!

The anticipation has been great. I hoped it would arrive before I went away for a few days.  Yesterday when I came home from my errands..there it was in the spring sunshine.

I rushed to take a photo and…you know the feeling…the battery had run out.  So…more patience required.

The fabric was beautifully wrapped in plastic with the air all sucked out so it seemed really small.

A lovely color-coordinated note from Lori.

THANK YOU LORI  🙂

Such happy fabrics : "Amelia" by Me and My Sister.  Here are the ones I have chosen for the Mystery Quilt.

They are from Left to Right

Amelia Bursting Buds in Tempting Turquoise
Amelia Bursting Buds in Whimsy White
Amelia Flower Dance in Playful Purple
Amelia Mini Flowers in Playful Purple
Amelia Paisley Party in Tempting Turquoise
Amelia Dotted Swiss in Playful Purple
Amelia Dotted Swiss in Plentiful Pink
  Amelia Stripe in Playful Purple

They are gorgeous and girly.

Please check out Lori’s site here if you would like to purchase some of these and see the rest of the range.

Now I am going away for a few days so I won’t do the cutting out just yet as my head is spinning with going away things and I really don’t want to make a mistake.  Easily done.

So I will be keen to return to my sewing machine and further progress on the Mystery Quilt "That Square Quilt" designed by The Gourmet Quilter.

Enjoy.
